By the beginning of the next year, we were getting some first releases again and patronage was increasing. Sister Act did well and ran for nine weeks over Christmas. The Bodyguard had a very popular song performed by Whitney Housten and although it didn't really deliver, it had a big opening. 766 came the first week which gave the box office a good boost.
Business was starting to improve although it was still not anything like the previous few years.
By September, the school holidays were excellent with a total of 9,369 admissions in three weeks, the main performers being Jurassic Park by a long shot with 2,286, 2,112 and 1766 admits in the first three weeks and the next best performer was Disney's Aladdin.
The Pre-Christmas slump wasn't as bad as it had been previously, with the lowest week having 244 admits.
