Memorial Park Lake Restoration

For the first time in it's 50-year history, the Memorial Park lake is being drained and renovated.

In recent years the lake's edges have begun to collapse. In addition, the huge build-up of silt and rubbish has led to a less-than-idyllic look for the park. It was determined that the lake had reached the end of it's current life. The restoration project was begun earlier this month and is expected to be completed by the end of October.

The restoration will include removal of silt and rubbish, construction of new stone edges and improved access for pedestrians. Locals will be happy to hear that the water clarity should be noticeably improved.
