Te Awamutu couple Kelly Heays and Kelly Heke are about to become the country’s ‘celebrity couple’ after winning TVNZ’s ‘Good Morning’ wedding competition.

‘The Two Kellys’ are already in Wellington after finding out Friday morning they received the highest vote to win the $50,000 wedding prize package.

The country will follow their progress all week leading up to their wedding this Friday live on TV One. After that, the couple who share so much in common will even share the same name.

The future Mr and Mrs Heke have just a short time to arrange the 30 guests that can join them for Friday’s celebration, conducted by celebrity celebrant Kay Gregory. In keeping with the whole ‘couples’ theme, it is fitting her husband is from Te Awamutu.

Guests throughout the week include NZ Idol finalist India Moala and her new husband James Tuisaula, who will perform love songs, and Black Stick Jaimee Provan, who will talk about her husband’s heroic effort to make their wedding despite being caught in the Whangarei floods, plus dance teacher ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Stefano Olivieri and award winning hairdresser Carl Manderson.

Straight after the week of pampering, and the wedding, the Hekes will jet off to their honeymoon in a five-star Tahitian hotel. They plan another party back home for friends who can’t attend in Wellington.

The couple say the phone has been running red hot since their win, with friends, family and even strangers congratulating them and wishing them all the best for the future.

The couple wish to thank everyone who voted for them and look forward to doing their best for all their ‘fans’ on the telly this week.
