The Mangakara Nature Walk is a fairly easy one-hour walk through the Mount Pirongia forest, with magnificent rimu, kahikatea, tawa, pukatea and kohekohe trees.
There are several rest places by the beautiful Mangakara Stream, before the track loops back to the starting point.
The track is shingle with occasional boardwalks and steps, suitable for most ages and fitness levels. It is not accessible by wheelchair.
