Kihikihi International Horse Trial

The Kihikihi International Horse Trial is one of New Zealand’s major equestrian events which is held at the Kihikihi Domain near Te Awamutu. The event runs once a year in April over three days, with the dressage phase on Friday, cross-country on Saturday and show-jumping on Sunday.

The event includes three international classes (CIC 3-star, 2-star and 1-star) which bring together Australasia’s finest event riders. There are also several national classes which run in conjunction with the international classes.

Come along and watch the action first-hand and see New Zealand’s top horse and rider combinations battling it out for top honours. Spectators are welcome on all three days and there is fantastic viewing of all tests. There is a trade-stand village with food stalls on site on all days.

cross-countryThis years Kihikihi Horse Trials are to be held on the 7th, 8th & 9th April 2017.
