Te Awamutu lies in the heart of the Waikato region, an area known for its lush and fertile pastures. Our town is very much a farming community. Dairy farming dominates the rural scene but there is also plenty of sheep farming and other forms of agriculture.

New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays is an annual event held at nearby Mystery Creek. It is the largest agricultural show in the Southern Hemisphere—a must-visit for anyone interested in the rural lifestyle.
