Laura Langman was born in Hamilton in 1986, and grew up on a farm in Te Pahu. Remembered by her teachers as an outstanding talent who was likely to succeed in any sport she chose, Laura went on to become an outstanding international netball player.
She was selected for the NZ Under-21 team at age 16, named in the Silver Ferns squad a year later, and made her Silver Ferns debut in 2005 against England at age 19.
Langman also competes in the ANZ Championship with the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic.
Originally playing at wing defence, she has since moved to centre and wing attack.
