Tim & Neil FinnTim and Neil Finn are internationally-renowned musicians, originally from Te Awamutu. Split Enz was their first successful band, and was in fact the first New Zealand rock band to achieve international success. The band was started by Tim with Phil Judd in 1972, and joined by Neil in 1977. Split Enz played in Te Awamutu as part of the town's 1984 centenary celebrations, the same year the band split up. Both Tim and Neil went on to enjoy further success as solo artists and in the band Crowded House, formed by Neil with Paul Hester in 1985. The brothers have also collaborated as a duo and worked with many other well-known artists. The Finn brothers are featured in a permanent display at the Te Awamutu Museum. In 2003 they were jointly declared the first inductees of the Te Awamutu Walk of Fame (see video). In 2006 Tim played a concert at the Te Awamutu Events Centre (see video at TATV). In 2008 they both played a charity concert at Te Awamutu College for the Gracelands Trust (pictured below). Websites
